*Media Obituary*Our beloved mother and grandmother Rosa Ortega Diaz, 76, of Big Spring, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 22, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church Big Spring with Dr. Dave Ring, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.She was born on August 1, 1927, in Toyah, Texas and married Leonardo Diaz on May 29, 1949 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1975.She was a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She taught the gospel of Jesus Christ with her quiet and gentle spirit. She was never a stranger to anyone and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but most of all with her granchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed life and praising the Lord. Her most favorite phrase, "Thank you Jesus", portrays her nature. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.She was a volunteer for the Big Spring Senior Citizens and attended the First United Methodist Church.Survivors include one son, Leonard Diaz, Jr. of Albany, Georgia; two daughters & sons-in-law, Sulema and Manuel Nabarrette and Vera and Rene Baza all of Odessa; one sister, Virginia Sosa of Big Spring; one brother, Margarito Ortega of Big Spring; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; one uncle, Jose Maria Mendoza of Big Spring.She was preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Sotera Ortega, a son, Danny Diaz and two infant children, Ismael and Maria Diaz.Pallbearers will be Leonard Diaz, Jr., Manuel Sosa, Jr., Freddie Sosa, Abel Garcia, Jr., Mark Edmondson and Mario Rubio.The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Monday, February 23, 2004, at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to Home Hospice House, 903 N.
