Ron, what a truly special person you were, “Peanut.” 😊 For those who know, they know. You could walk into a room and light up the entire place, making everyone laugh—at least once, and more often than not, many times over. You even turned Cheers’ famous “Hey, Norm!” into “Hey, Peanut!” That was you. You would give the shirt off your back, just like your mama and dad. When I was younger, you taught me a valuable lesson. Years later, I was fortunate enough to tell you how that lesson played out in my life. It’s personal—just between you and me—but you know. Thank you, “Peanut,” for always being exactly who you were. Thank you for your love and for the value you instilled in me. Sincerely, Candice D. Rea a/k/a Author, C. R. Shelby P.S. I mention my authorship only because you were one of the many great ones who encouraged me to chase my dreams.

Our deepest sympathy to each of you in the loss of Ron. However you knew him, there is no doubt that your relationship was special. He had a big, big heart that was obvious to all. We both have many good memories of him and are saddened to know that he is no longer with us. But, praise God that he now is in paradise in the glorious presence of our Loving Father! May God comfort you in your mourning. Helen and David Ross

March 15, 1962 was one of the most wonderful days for our family. What a precious blessing came into our lives. We started using new names like Grandmother and Granddaddy, Grandson, Nephew, Aunt and Uncle. But the sweetest new name was “Little Ron”. From that day on he was “Little Ron” and I was “Aunt Jan”. Beautiful names! He was so special to all the family, but his Granddaddy thought he hung the moon. What a joy he was to us all and we have such precious memories. Another wonderful day was when I heard him pray to welcome and receive Jesus as his Saviour. A day I will never forget. We love you “Little Ron” and will see you soon. .

Some of my crazy memories of your dad~We’d always get together to grill. He always HAD to be the griller. We’d go over at 3 to eat at 8, but he’d start a fire and let it cook down to ice cold about 4 or 5 times before it was “just right” to finally cook on. We’d usually eat about midnight. 🤣 Then when Sherri was expecting Haylea, he called several times to tell us it was time. He loved crying wolf to get us all excited. The morning it was real, there was snow on the ground. It was the one and only time I didn’t believe him. I told him I was getting in my car to come, and if she wasn’t really in labor and I got there I was going to be mad. I knew when he didn’t tell me not to come he was telling the truth. He loved to argue and he always knew who to argue with~Me. So many more stories I could tell, but I’ll tell you those in person. Going to miss his ornery self. Love you girls so much.
