Ronald E. "Mutt" Moore, 86, of Big Spring, died on Monday, March 10, 2008, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Jim Ollerton, officiating.He was born on April 2, 1921, in Coleman, Texas and married Blanche Lawson Moore on July 26, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas. Mr. Moore worked in the CCC Camp in Lamesa prior to his service in World War II and then worked as a sheet metal mechanic at Webb Air Force Base until his retirement in 1969. He was a musician who played guitar and saxophone in country and western groups from the 1940's – 1980's. He had served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific on the Stephen Potter, a fletcher class destroyer and received nine battle Stars. He was of the Christain faith.Survivors include his wife, Blanche Lawson Moore of Big Spring; two daughters, Tonia Moore Ollerton and husband, Jim of Uvalde, Texas and Cynthia Kay of San Angelo; one son, Jerry Dale Moore of Big Spring, Texas; and eight grandchildren.He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
