In Memory of the greatest Grandpaw ever! Pierce, Roger S., 64, of Big Spring, died on Friday, August 25, 2000, in a local hospital. Memorial services were held Saturday, August 26, 2000, at the Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Parker, pastor and Rev. Don Richards, brother-in-law from Arlington, officiating. He was born on April 22, 1936 in Abingdon, Virginia and married Bobbi Sherman on February 19, 1954 in Breno, New Mexico. He came to Big Spring in 1982 from the Dallas area. Roger worked as the service manager for the John Deere dealership in Big Spring until retiring in 1990. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Mr. Pierce served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1957. Survivors include his wife, Bobbi Pierce of Big Spring; two sons, Russell Pierce and wife Carla of Colleyville, and Randy Pierce and companion Teresa Overton of Big Spring; one daughter, Robin Newton and husband John of Big Spring; his mother-in-law, Lois Sherman of Arlington; 13 grandchildren, Ashley, Derek, Chase, Cody, Chande, Brock, Britta, Bresha, Macy, Spencer, Kyle, J. D. and Kyle; two sisters-in-laws, Kenette Carnes and family and Shari Richards and family; and several cousins including Betty Crymes. The family suggests memorials to: Veterans Administration Volunteer Services, 300 Veterans Blvd., Big Spring, Texas 79720. The family would like to especially thank the ICU nursing staff.
