Roger W. Brooks, 69 of Big Spring, Texas died Thursday, November 13, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, November 17, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Stanton. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton.He was born February 27, 1945 in San Angelo, Texas. He married Carla Perry June 27, 1975 in Midland, Texas.Roger graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1963. He started working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in March of 1966, retiring as a construction manager in July 2001. Roger enjoyed antique tractors and traveling, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.He is survived by his wife, Carla Brooks of Big Spring; two daughters, Lisa Baggerly and husband, Scott of Teague and Jody Roberts and husband, Ross of Big Spring; three grandchildren, Chandler Baggerly of Temple, Jordan Roberts and Bryson Roberts both of Big Spring; a sister, Pat Shackleford and husband, Johnny of Colorado City; and his father-in-law, Gene Perry of Big Spring.He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Herman Derrick; his mother, Ila Kay Sikes; his step-father, Virgil Robert Brooks; a sister, Linda Derrick; his mother-in-law, Jeneane Perry; and a brother-in-law, Dirk Perry.Roger wanted to recognize Frank A. Davis, his Ag teacher for the positive influence he had on him as well as the special friends he had throughout his life.The family suggests memorials be made to Home Hospice of Big Spring, 111 East 7th St., Suite A, Big Spring, Texas 79720 or to First United Methodist Church, P.
