Roger Allen Ball, 98, of Midland, Texas passed away on February 17, 2024. Roger was born on October 15, 1925 in Maxwell, Iowa to Alfred and Crescy Ball. Roger Allen Ball, 98, of Midland, Texas passed away on February 17, 2024.
Roger was born on October 15, 1925 in Maxwell, Iowa to Alfred and Crescy Ball. He graduated from Eldora High School in Eldora, Iowa. Roger was inducted into the navy in 1944 and was discharged in 1946. He attended Iowa State University and received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1954. In 1964 he received his PhD from the University of Minnesota. He was married to Louise Prezel in 1965. His career as a veterinarian pathologist included academia, the private sector and USDA. He retired in 1991. Roger and Louise moved to Midland, Texas in 1994.
Roger is survived by daughter Elaine Howard (Bruce), granddaughters Jen Steed (Ben) and Amanda Walton (Chris) and four great grandchildren.
Roger is preceded in death by his wife, Louise, parents and seven siblings.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the nurses and staff in the Younger Unit at Manor Park. Gratitude is also expressed to Hospice of Midland.
