Robert Wilkerson age 78 passed away peacefully among family Monday May 15, 2017. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.Robert was born May 26, 1938 in Lamesa, Texas to Oda and Gladys Wilkerson. He graduated from Stanton High School. He married Jeanie Howell October 2, 1959 in Midland, Texas.Robert was employed by Pan American Petroleum as a geologist in 1959 and later transferred to production operations. He retired in 1987 from Amoco Production as a Sr. drilling superintendent.His achievements during his career were a great source of pride to him and his family. He made lifelong friends and lasting relationships with the people he worked with. He was well respected in his field of expertise and being a great source of knowledge, was always available and eager to give advice and guidance to his family and friends in the industry after retirement.Robert enjoyed fishing, leatherwork and mentoring his children and grandchildren in literature, history and politics.Survivors include, daughter, Terri Davis and husband Ricky of Mountain Home, TX; daughter, Toni Musick and husband Jesse of Spicewood, TX; daughter, Cody Simmons and spouse Tim Greeson of Odessa, TX; son, Shannon Wilkerson and wife Janis of Eldorado, TX; daughter, Heather Angel of Gardendale, TX; grandchildren, Mitch Wilkerson and wife Courtney and Cole Wilkerson and wife Codi all of San Angelo, TX; and Remy Angel of San Angelo, TX; great grandchildren, Molly, Jaxon, Hudson and Makaylen Wilkerson; nephew, Paul “Bo” Cole; niece, Gina Brown; niece, Angela Condit. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Jeanie; Shirley Ann Cole and Wilton Lee Wilkerson.The family suggests memorials be made to Wounded Warriors.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
