Robert W. \Bob\ Brock, 83, of Big Spring, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, February 9, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dudley Mullins and Rev. Mark Lindsey, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, February 13, 2017 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. He was born March 17, 1933 in Haskell, Texas to Robert L. and Lamiza Brock and married Joan Grand January 2, 1953 in Portales, New Mexico. Bob served in the United States Army with the 25th Armored Division from 1953 to 1955, serving in Korea. He moved to Big Spring in July of 1955 and worked for Tarbox and Gossett Ford Motor Company for 11 years before purchasing the dealership in 1966. He operated Bob Brock Ford Motor Company, adding the Lincoln Mercury franchise in 1967 and the Nissan franchise in 1987, until selling the dealership in July 2012. Bob was an avid pilot, Dallas Cowboy fan and loved following his grandchildren in their sporting activities. He enjoyed spending time at their home in Red River, New Mexico. Bob had been a member of East Fourth Street Baptist Church for 62 years. He was also a member of the Texas Automobile Dealer Association and the National Automobile Dealer Association where he won numerous awards through the years, including the Distinguished Service Award. He also supported youth athletics through the years. Survivors include his wife, Joan Brock; one son, Rondel Brock and wife, Sherry; and one daughter, Kim Weeks all of Big Spring; six grandchildren, Jason Brock and wife, Jayci, Brock Gee and wife, Melanie, Lance Brock and wife, Brittany, Blake Gee and wife, Andrea, Courtney Bravo and husband, Roger and Rachel Gee and wife, Dani Belle Gee; 16 great-grandchildren, Covy and Finley Brock, Alex, Kai and Kase Gee, Riley, Reid and Audrey Brock, Lexie, Brylee, Kenyon and LeAndra Gee, Mila Bravo, Yzabele and Jisele Olivarez and Kingston Gee; one sister, June Bowen of Lubbock; and one brother, Jimmy Don Brock and wife, Barbara of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Lamiza Brock; three brothers, Lonnie Brock, Ben Brock and Mabry Brock; one sister, Lela Pettit; two nephews, Ronnie Brock and Don Harris; and one niece, Janna Toney. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews and honorary pallbearers will be all former employees of Bob Brock Ford.
