Robert Stevens

Robert (Bob) D. Stevens, a beloved figure in the Midland community, peacefully departed this world on September 22, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on November 28, 1956, in Decatur, Georgia, Bob’s life was a rich tapestry woven from family, friendships, and a profound passion for the energy industry.

Growing up in Midland, Bob was a vibrant spirit, known for his infectious smile and determination. As a young man, he excelled at Robert E. Lee High School, not only honing his character but also his athletic skills on the baseball field, where he received state honors. His journey continued at The University of Texas, where he chased both academic and athletic aspirations, playing collegiate baseball before forging a successful career.

After marrying his high school sweetheart, Neita Susan, Bob settled in Tyler, Texas, and later returned to Midland, where they were blessed with three children: James Doyle, Robert Justin, and Jeanie Marie. As a dedicated father, Bob cherished every moment spent with his family, building memories that would last a lifetime. In 1984, he co-founded Stevens & Tull, Inc., leaving an indelible mark on the energy sector for nearly five decades.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob was an ardent supporter of the Texas Longhorns and a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves. He found joy in sharing these passions with his family and friends, often spending cherished time together in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to those he held dear.

Bob is survived by wife, Neita Susan Stevens; son James Doyle Stevens and wife Shelby of Peaster, TX; son Robert Justin Stevens and wife Katie of Midland, Texas; Jeanie Marie Russell and husband Matt of Midland, Texas; grandchildren, Kade Stevens and wife Katie of North Richland Hills, TX, Ryker Stevens & Nash Stevens both of Peaster, TX, Alicia Ross of Waco, TX, Brycen Stevens & Blaine Stevens both of Midland, TX, RJ Russell & Greyson Russell both of Midland, TX; great grandchildren, Wesley and Braker Stevens both of North Richland Hills, TX; sister, Cynthia Scarlett Burkhart of Hurst, Texas.

Bob’s parents, Leta Jean and Robert C. Stevens, preceded him in death, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew him.

The family will gather to honor Bob’s memory on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, with a visitation starting at 6:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of his life will follow on September 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Crestview Baptist Church, with interment to take place at Resthaven Memorial Park.
