Robert E. "Bob" Posey, 70, of Midland, passed from death into life on Saturday, October 6, 2007 after a two year battle with Lymphoma. Graveside services will be Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland.Bob was born on September 21, 1937 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Melton and Ida Posey where he resided until his family relocated to Snyder, Texas in the early 1950s. Bob was a graduate of Snyder High School in 1956. He married the love of his life, Kay G. Fitts, in May of 1956.Bob proudly served his country through the National Guard, receiving Honorable Discharge, February 17, 1964. He entered his long-standing oilfield career in 1957 with his employment with Jones & Laughlin, receiving many promotions. He left Jones & Laughlin in the early 70s where he was employed by Williams and Patterson. In 1979, Bob began his own Oilfield Pipe and Tubular company, Posey Pipe & Equipment, Inc., until 1998, when he semi-retired, and continued with Bob Posey Company up until his death.Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Melton Posey and Ida Posey Northcott and infant sister, Juanita Posey. Survivors include his wife, Kay Posey, two sons, Lance Posey, Dale Posey, and one daughter, Melissa Lopez and her husband, Jesse Lopez, all of Midland. One sister, Linda Giles and her husband, Ronnie Giles, of Stephenville, Texas as well as their daughter, Debbie Giles Dillingham and husband, J.D. and son, Kent Giles. He is also survived by 7 wonderful grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, of whom he loved and took pride in.The family would like to thank Dr. Rastogi and his wonderful staff for their service and personal, caring outreach, as well as the tremendous, caring staff of Hospice. Bob & I were very good friends who met at The Spot Coffee Shop most every morning with a group of men; namely Wes Dalley, Dick Moore, Don Robinson & more. Bob was a good man and liked by everyone he came in contact with. We will miss him. God bless you.

Mr. Posey was a dear sweet neighbor that I am going to miss. I always enjoyed seeing him out in front when we would greet each other. I will miss seeing him at the mailbox with his faithful dog walking with him. God Bless the family and my deepest sympathy who lost such a wonderful man. Bob was a good friend for many years as we had many business transactions. He was honest , fair, and just a real fine person. My condolences to his family.

My Uncle Robert was a truly special man! We are so blessed to have had such a man to call our own! I have such fond memories of growing up and in later years as an adult spending precious time with my Aunt Kay, Uncle Robert and my sweet cousins; Lance, Dale and Missy and later on all the spouses and children to come! There is a lot of love and laughter in our family which will carry us through until we all meet up again. Uncle Robert's sincerity and spirit will be sorely missed. He taught us well and we are all the better for having known and loved him!

Worked for years in his pipe yard, hooking up the electrical. He never had a bad thing thing to say about anything or anyone, but always wanted to know how you were doing. He'll be missed.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Bob was a wonderful man, who will be missed greatly by his family. I will continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers as always. May the Lord comfort and keep each of you.

My Papa was the most loving man ive ever known. He cared so much about all of his family. All i am today and i ive ever known has come from my Papa. I know hes in a MUCH BETTER place im just gonna miss him so much, but i know hes looking down on all of us. I love you Papa Posey!!

My father will be deeply missed by all of us. We loved him very much. He was a great father, husband, grandfather and great-grand father. It is very hard to let go but we all know that he is a much better place and know that we will all be together again one day. Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayer during this difficult time. I love and miss you daddy.

Bob was a wonderful, well respected man. He always had a smile on his face and loved his family deeply. He will be missed. My prayers are with the family.

Bob Posey was a fine man and I am sure he will be greatly missed. I consider it an honor and privilege to have known and worked with Bob over the years. My heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathies are with his family now. May God comfort, cosole and strengthen each of you during this sad time.
