Robert E. "Bob" Posey, 70, of Midland, passed from death into life on Saturday, October 6, 2007 after a two year battle with Lymphoma. Graveside services will be Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland.Bob was born on September 21, 1937 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Melton and Ida Posey where he resided until his family relocated to Snyder, Texas in the early 1950s. Bob was a graduate of Snyder High School in 1956. He married the love of his life, Kay G. Fitts, in May of 1956.Bob proudly served his country through the National Guard, receiving Honorable Discharge, February 17, 1964. He entered his long-standing oilfield career in 1957 with his employment with Jones & Laughlin, receiving many promotions. He left Jones & Laughlin in the early 70s where he was employed by Williams and Patterson. In 1979, Bob began his own Oilfield Pipe and Tubular company, Posey Pipe & Equipment, Inc., until 1998, when he semi-retired, and continued with Bob Posey Company up until his death.Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Melton Posey and Ida Posey Northcott and infant sister, Juanita Posey. Survivors include his wife, Kay Posey, two sons, Lance Posey, Dale Posey, and one daughter, Melissa Lopez and her husband, Jesse Lopez, all of Midland. One sister, Linda Giles and her husband, Ronnie Giles, of Stephenville, Texas as well as their daughter, Debbie Giles Dillingham and husband, J.D. and son, Kent Giles. He is also survived by 7 wonderful grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, of whom he loved and took pride in.The family would like to thank Dr. Rastogi and his wonderful staff for their service and personal, caring outreach, as well as the tremendous, caring staff of Hospice.
