Robert 'PawPaw' Benjamin, 59, of Odessa, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2008 at Hospice House in Odessa. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Midland with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. He was born January 20, 1949 in Roswell, New Mexico to Oliver Benjamin and Marjorie Anderson Benjamin. On July 11, 1987 he married Vickie 'Lovins' Sloan in Odessa, Texas. He worked for BTA Oil Producers as a Senior Systems Programmer and was very dedicated to his work. Robert served in the United States Air Force where he obtained the rank of Sergeant and was a USAF honor graduate. He was a graduate of the City of Odessa's Citizen's Police Academy. He loved camping, playing cards and was an avid bowler. Most of all he loved his grandchildren and family. Robert always thought of others and would do anything for anyone. He had the best personality and smile. Survivors include his wife, Vickie Benjamin of Odessa; son, Clay Benjamin and his wife Shiloh of Albany, GA; daughter, Rachel Urias and her husband Ronnie of Fort Worth, TX; mother, Marjorie Benjamin of El Paso, TX; sisters, Roberta Price, Marilyn Benjamin and Carol Benjamin of El Paso, TX; granddaughters, Heather Benjamin, Katie Benjamin, Sadee Urias and Alexis Urias; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. The family suggests memorial be directed to Home Hospice, 901 W. Missouri, Midland, Texas 79701.
