Robert Gray King was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 10, 1925. He was the son of Charles Curtis King and Izetta Gamble King. He was a graduate of Tulsa Central High School with continuing education at the University of Indiana and MIT. During his time in Indiana he met and married Dorothy Lankenau, his wife of fifty years.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Rev Robert Pase officiating.Robert served in the Navy and Coast Guard in World War II and the Korean War. Much of his life's work was spent educating students as an instructor at Midland College until his retirement. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, as well as his beloved dog, Cassie.To cherish his memory he leaves his son, Danny King, daughter-in-law, Kay, and his grandaughter Amy of Austin, Texas; his daughter Cydney King of Midland, his spiritual daughter Val Valentine, of Midland, and his special friend, B. J. Thomas.Our deepest gratitude to Amparo Galindo, "a living angel," for all her loving support and compassionate care of our father during his long illnesses.
