Robert “Bob” Eugene McBryde, of Midland, Texas died early in the morning of December 13, 2025, peacefully in his sleep. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland, Texas.
Bob is survived by brother Marion and wife Mona McBryde, sister Kay McPherson, brother in-law Jerry Carter; children Pam and husband Barry Kirby, Paula and husband Howard Morrison, Robby and wife Lyndsei McBryde; grandchildren Sara and husband Kevin Acuna, Hannah and husband Garrett Bradley, Clay and wife Taylor Morrison, Cole Morrison and husband Matt Trahan, Camryn Morrison, Emily McBryde and Kelsie Rasure, Brandon and wife Melissa Garcia, Devin and wife Sydney McBryde, and Cameron Garcia and fiancé Annie Pietch; great grandchildren Maeson and Parker Acuna, Presley and Kennedy Bradley, Charli and Chase Morrison, Olivia and Louie Garcia, and Merrick McBryde, along with the extended McBryde family.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Doris and M.W. McBryde, brother Carl McBryde, sister in-law Shirley McBryde, sister Sue Carter, brother in-law Kenny McPherson, and grandson Tyler Kirby.
Bob was born the second child to Doris and M.W. McBryde in Seymour, Texas on January 23rd, 1940. He grew up in Midland where he was given the name “Peanut” by his football coach, and at age 14 he followed his brother, Carl, to Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico and worked in the stables at the racetrack during the summers. Most of his life he was a builder and contractor. He married Nina Willis, on September 3, 1960, and then welcomed two daughters and one son, who were the most important parts of his life until the grandchildren were born.
Bob was a team member of the Midland (Silver Wheels) and Georgia Roller Hockey Leagues from 1963 to 1973, competing in many National State Championships in the early 1960s and winning the Georgia State Championship in 1972. After his divorce from Nina, he moved to DeSoto, Texas in 1984 and returned home to Midland in 2012.
His hobbies included dancing and freshwater fishing. Bob was heavily involved in Midland’s 4H and Livestock Association from childhood through his grandchildren’s involvement and was a member of the Greenwood Church of Christ.
