Robert “Rob” Eugene Dolan IV of Midland, TX, passed away on January 22nd at Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at First Methodist Church in Midland.

Rob was born on August 30, 2010, in Odessa, TX, to Mara Kathleen Dolan and Robert “Gene” Eugene Dolan III. In May 2021, Rob was diagnosed with brain cancer. He fought a long and courageous battle. Rob was known for his lively personality, intelligence, humor, kindness, and love for Jesus. He never met a stranger and made everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. He was also a devoted fan of Texas Tech, LEGO, Marvel, and AJR.

Rob is survived by parents Mara Dolan and Gene Dolan, sisters Faith Dolan and Ava Claire Dolan, grandparents Gina Massey, Mike Massey, Kay Doss, and Tom Doss, aunts and uncles Melissa Lichlyter, Tia Cisneros, Jon Massey, and Kinah Massey, cousins Kamille Massey, Memphis Newton, Maddie Cisneros, Raelyn Massey, Bristol Massey, Savannah Massey and Annie Lichlyter, and extended family Laurie Weatherby, Paul Weatherby, and Marla Daugherty.

Rob is preceded in death by grandfathers, Gene Dolan and Carlton Boedeker.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Covenant Children’s Hospital staff, the Covenant Children’s Hematology/Oncology staff, Dr. Theodore Johnson and his clinical trial team, and friends and family who supported Rob.

Donations can be made to Lubbock Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Sunshine Kids Foundation, or Hart of Gold Foundation.

Rob left his footprints wherever he went. He showed kindness and love, courage and compassion, and inspired others with his strong outlook on life. I am so grateful for our Family Reunion time spent with Rob and his family. My sweetest conversation with him was the discussion about his favorite subject in school, which was Science. He was so excited when he let me know his number 1 goal was to find a cure for his type of cancer. My prayers for Rob and his family are that perhaps the tests run, immunotherapy, or treatment given to this sweet, precious young man, might find a cure or treatment to wipe out this dreaded cancer.
