Robert E. "Dog" Jones, Sr., 64, of Big Spring, died on Friday, December 16, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Eddy Nelson, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. Robert was born on July 15, 1947, in Big Spring, Texas and married Ardelia "Dee Dee" Brown on July 2, 1988 in Big Spring.He served in the United States Army and worked in Big Spring for Animal Control and the Ideal Laundry service. He then began his career in the food industry, working for the VA Medical Center and then for Marriot Corporation as a Dietary Supervior for their resturants on the campus of Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska.Robert was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Ardelia "Dee Dee" Jones of Big Spring; two daughters, Melloney Sheppard and Jacqueline Williams, both of Big Spring; three sons, Robert Jones, Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska, Sean Clark and wife, Veronica, and Chass Clark and wife, Veronica, all of Phoenix, Arizona; eleven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers, Harold Jones and wife, Yvonne of Yankton, South Dakota, and Gregory Jones and wife, Patricia of Ft. Worth; three sisters, Alice Emerson and Minnie Newbill both of Midland, and Sandra Roper of Ft. Worth; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Katie (Orams) Jones; and three brothers. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
