Robert Dean (R.D.) Bradshaw, 79, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 in Midland, Texas. He was born June 23, 1933 in Childress County, Texas.R.D. grew up in Childress, Texas and graduated from Childress High School. While in high school, R.D. played both basketball and football for the Childress Bobcats. After the 1951 Bobcat football season, R.D. was designated as a High School All American Football Player. R.D. went on to play college football for Texas Tech on a full athletic scholarship. During the 1953 season, R.D. travelled with the Red Raiders to Jacksonville, Florida, where he played in the Gator Bowl.After college, R.D. honorably served his country in the U.S. Army for two years in San Francisco, CA. He then began work for Fina and Cosden refineries where he worked for over 30 years until retirement. He trusted Christ at age 15 at a revival meeting in Childress. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church. R.D. was a good man and a good father who enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, gardening alongside his wife, and doting on his many pets.R.D. was married to the love of his life, Shirley Maureen Miller Bradshaw, August 21, 1954 in Clovis, New Mexico. They were married for 44 years.R.D. is survived by his two children, Kate Bradshaw Eglof and her spouse, Daniel; Robert Bradshaw and his wife, Brenda; 3 wonderful grandchildren, Nathan, Garrett and his wife, Kristen, and Emily; many nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family.R.D. was preceded in death by his devoted and beautiful wife, Shirley, who has been waiting to welcome him Home since her untimely passing in 1998. He was also preceded in death by his parents, George Alvin Bradshaw and Mary Adeline Cunningham Bradshaw; his brother, Alvin Rudell Bradshaw; and his sister, Billie Jean Bradshaw Eason.A memorial service will be held at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park on Highway 87 South in Big Spring, Texas on Wednesday, February 27, at 4 PM.The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Big Spring Humane Society, P.
