Robert D. "Dee" Anderson, 81, of Robert Lee, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring with Howard Hornsby, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.He was born on June 10, 1926, in Evening Shade, Arkansas and married Lillie "Lil" Anderson on September 4, 1953 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.He worked for Continental Oil Company for 40 years as a senior maintenance operator, retiring in 1985. He had lived in Forsan and Ackerly, and after retiring, moved to Robert Lee in the early 1990's.He was a member of Forsan Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.Survivors include his wife, Lil Anderson of Robert Lee; daughter, Paula Cowley of Dumas; two sons, Robert D. (Andy) Anderson and Sammie D. (Sam) Anderson both of Big Spring; eight grandchildren, Chris Carlile, Dustin Carlile, Rena Bontke, Kason Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Jonah Anderson, Jason Anderson and Stacey Best; eight great grandchildren, Faith Bontke, Aver Bontke, Addison Bontke, Justin Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Aubrey Best, Kenna Best and Jackson Best; five step grandchildren, Heather Langohr, Sterling Mann, Kyle Cowley, Dustin Cowley and Kirah Cowley; and four step great grandchildren, Allie Walker, Connor Cowley, Hanna Cowley and Paden Langohr. He was preceded in death by one grandson, J. D. Anderson in September 1989.
