Robert (Bob) Charles Palmer, 82, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. He was surrounded by his family when he left this earth and went onto his heavenly home. Bob was born on June 3, 1942 in Borger, Texas to Charles and Eileen Palmer. He grew up and went to different schools in both Oklahoma and Texas due to his father working in the oilfield. The family eventually ended up in Midland where they later started Palmer Pipe and Supply.
Bob met the love of his life, Peggy Lynn Hoover and they married on March 4, 1966. They raised two sons, Kevin and Christopher.
During the 1960’s Bob served in the National Guard. Taking a break from the oilfields during the 1970’s, he and Peggy boldly started a popular clothing store, called United Jubilation. It was known for its hippie attire, and it was the place to go. Palmer Pipe called him back to take over the family business which he continued to own & operate for the next 50 plus years. He was also a pioneer in aquaculture and was well known for his shrimp farms in Stanton. Bob was a very good amateur archaeologist, finding many arrowheads and rare artifacts that he donated to the Museum of the Southwest. He and Peggy enjoyed their lake place in San Angelo and later their cabin in Kerrville, where they enjoyed the peace and quiet of the creek and nature.
Bob is survived by his son, Kevin Wilton and wife Ann of Midland, daughter-in-law, Bonny Palmer of Denton, three granddaughters; Sallye Sheridan and wife Jessica of Dallas, Dawn Wilkerson of Odessa, Katie Baccus and husband, Ben of Midland. He is also survived by his great grandchildren; Olivia and Teddy Sheridan, Cameron and Conner Caraveo, and Grant Baccus.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, his son Christopher Palmer and his parents.
