Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Randel Everett, Dr Steve Schorr, and Skip Hedgpeth officiating.Bob was born on December 4, 1949 to John and Mary Houser in Amarillo, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Houser.Bob was a CPA for over 35 years, for a number of companies in Midland and Odessa. It took him until the last few years of his career to ever get around to "doing taxes". Bob was an avid golfer, hunter, and collector of friends. His ready laugh and quick wit were always evident, in any situation. Even in the last year, when he was so ill, he spent more time asking the doctors & nurses about themselves and their families than he wanted them to ask about him. Bob took the job of being a father to a son seriously, making sure to teach his son the important things in life, like hitting a high fade and how to properly flirt with girls. As for being the father of a daughter, he learned to crimp hair and tie bows in the 80's, and wait patiently in the mall while shopping went on. He wanted his grandpa name to be T-BO, which stands for "Texas Burnt Orange." That became T-bob, the name which his grandchildren will be taught and remember him by.Bob was a graduate of The University of Texas in Austin, and no one could have been was more proud to be a Longhorn. UT truly was a part of his soul. He had an SAE tattoo that never faded away, and the friends he made during his college days were friends to the end. Bob was a gifted listener and selfless to a fault. He was able to find the tiniest thread of good in any bad situation and pull on it. He always said the best day possible would be a sunrise service followed by an early tee time and then watching the sun go down hunting birds over great dogs. Bob's favorite job at First Baptist Church was "Greeter", and he knew the name of everyone who came in "his" door. He and his wife Amy taught first grade Sunday School for many years, as well. The main focus of Bob's ministry was Midland Men's Community Bible Study, which he was deeply involved in for over 30 years. His influence was felt by many men, and he often said that Community Bible Study was "the best place in Midland to be on Monday nights." Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Amy Houser; son, Corby Houser and wife Megan; daughter, Molly Drought and husband, Henry; sister, Mimi Osbourn and husband Lamar; two step-sons, Timothy and Lance Stewart; and five grandchildren, Helen Harper Houser, Patrick Henry Drought V, Blair Elizabeth Drought, Cory Michael Stewart, and Ronald Stewart. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to The Community Bible Study, 790 Stout Road
