Robbie Jean Yates Graves, 64, of Stanton, died on Saturday, September 11, 2004, at the Martin County Hospital in Stanton. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel in Big Spring with Rev. David Harp, pastor of First Baptist Church of Stanton, officiating. Robbie was born on October 28, 1939, in Howard County, Texas. She was raised in Big Spring and Snyder, Texas. Robbie attended High School at Snyder and also attended Howard College. On February 14, 1959, Robbie married Granville Graves of Stanton. Robbie and Granville owned Graves Plumbing & Supply of Stanton. They worked together as business partners for 40 years. Through the years Robbie was very active in community service. She served on the board of the Martin County Historical Museum for several years, was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Rebekah Lodge. She was also a Kindergarten teacher for several years at Stanton. Robbie was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanton. In earlier years she taught a junior high Sunday School class and GA's. Robbie enjoyed hobbies of quilting, geneology, reading and gardening. Robbie grew beautiful roses that won first place ribbons at the Martin County Fair. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to various places throughout the world, China, Spain and Israel. Robbie was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Granville Graves of Stanton; her son and daughter-in-law, Craig Allen and Laurabeth Graves of Stanton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri Rae and Kevin Rose of Stanton and Leigh Ann and Kevin Maccanelli of Midland; one brother, Kenneth Z. Yates of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; her sister, Karen White of Mills City, Oregon; three grandchildren, Michael Graves, Michelle Graves and Cody Rose all of Stanton.
