Ricky Dean James

Ricky Dean James was born on August 5, 1958 and went to live with our Lord on Friday, August 1, 2025.

Ricky was a gentle soul: quiet, reserved and reticent alongside a remarkable dry humor. His lighthearted giggle accompanied by a mischievous sparkle in his eye never failed to make us all laugh. His love, thoughtfulness, compassion, generosity, gentleness and empathy for his daughter, granddaughters and family was genuinely boundless. One of his most treasured occasions was a long-standing dinner date every Saturday night with his mom with whom he was able to share the experiences of his daily life. Ricky was down to earth, always unpretentious and enjoyed the simple pleasures of swinging a golf club, strumming his guitar as well as the not so simple pleasure of being a true blue fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Known to us as a son, brother, Dad, Papa and Uncle Wick, his tender spirit will be deeply missed. See you soon Ricky Red.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Dean James. He is survived by his mother, Gretchen James, sister Kathy Hartman, husband Dicky Hartman, brother Steven James, wife Michele James, daughter Regan Weaver, son-in-law Paul Weaver, granddaughters Taylor and Kinley Weaver, 6 nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews and  great, great nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at Serenity Gardens in Midland Thursday, August 7^th at 10:00 am.
