Richard W. Reagan, 84, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, February 19, 2004, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 21, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Darrell Hendrickson, pastor of First Church of God, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.Born on July 4, 1919 in Big Spring, his parents were Bascom A. and Eugenia Reagan, a pioneer Big Spring family. He married Betty Hutchings on December 14, 1946 in Big Spring. Mr. Reagan worked as a union carpenter all of his life and had received his 70 year pin. He enjoyed photograghy and painted as a hobby.He was a member of the First Church of God and had held every office in the church through the years. He was a member of Carpenter's Local Union #1634; was active in the Prospector's Club and was a member and past president of the Big Spring Genealogical Society. He had served in the Seabees in the South Pacific during World War II.Survivors include his wife, Betty Reagan of Big Spring, two sons and daughters-in-law, Darrel W. and Nelda Reagan of Big Spring and John Wesley and Rita Reagan of Waco; one daughter and son-in-law, Janis Marie and Edwin Halstead of Tucson, Arizona; one daughter-in-law, Gwen Reagan of Lubbock; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Festus McElreath of Big Spring, and Joyce and John Hawkins of Rochester, Minnesota; nine grandchildren, Kevin Reagan, Brian Reagan, Amanda Rankin, Patrick Reagan, Michael Bailey, Julia Bentley, Virginia Groce, Bo Reagan and Juliann Reagan; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.He was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Reagan; his parents; three brothers, Earl, Robert and Bascom E. Reagan and one sister, Hazel McCrary. The family suggests memorials to the First Church of God, 2009 Main, Big Spring, Texas 79720 or to a favorite charity.
