Richard Allen Summers (Bomber), 63, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 2:00PM at Kentucky Baptist Church in Midland with Bro. Bob Porterfield officiating.
Richard was born on August 29, 1958 to Velma Lee Hennig and Richard Summers in Midland, TX. He attended Midland High School where his passion to become a mechanic began.
Richard worked in the oilfield since the age of 17, starting at FWA Drilling where he spent his first twenty years. After leaving FWA Drilling, he pursued his dream of being a mechanic.
Richard loved fishing, gaming, and spending time with his family. He also loved to listen to music. He was very easy going, patient, and got along with everyone he met. He was just a big kid at heart.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lanita Summers; daughter, Leann & husband Roy Paredes, daughter Gina & husband Justin Carlton. He is also survived by grandchildren Hayli, McKayla, Kingston, Kamryn, Jaxon Paredes, & Sydnee & Nicolas Carlton. Brother Mark Hennig, wife Robin, kids Steven & Michael, sister Georgia Greenlee, and Rita Burcham and family, Marla Pool & family, Zeke Baker & family, Eddy Baker & family, and Martha Baker.
Richard is preceded in death by his mother Velma Lee Hennig and Father Richard Alvin Summers.
