Richard Audie Stephens came in to this world on July 23, 1985 in Midland, Texas. The first born child of Audie and Deborah Stephens, he was the light of our lives and brought us joy every day. As he grew to his amazing stature of 6 8 he remained his mommas boy and was never ashamed to admit it. He fiercely protected his little sister Hannah and loved his brother Daniel more than Daniel himself even knows. His best friend Chris and his children, Damian, Chris Jr. and Mattalyn were so very important to him; he loved them with a heart that was so large it knew no bounds. He loved music and motorcycles and was happiest when riding his beloved Hayabusa with his dad, Chris and his brother in law, Dillon. Richard graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Midland in 2003. He married Camille Marie Robinson on 7-7-07 and they moved to Lubbock. Together they shared many wonderful days and adventures. She brought such joy to his life in so many ways. Her parents, Steve and Margaret Robinson loved Richard and his family as though they were their own, as we did them. Richard touched many lives, more than we can know, as he was able to recognize people who were hurting, take their problems away from them and store them inside himself. Jordyn McPherson was a special one of those who he helped, loved and protected, as she also did for him. He left us way too soon and the hole he left in our hearts can never be filled. Richard did not know or understand how many people loved him. He loved fiercely; fought hard every day to survive and now he is with his Grandpa, with whom he had such a very special love and connection. He also leaves behind his grandparents, WB and Billie Stephens, Uncle Ray Stephens, Aunt Cathie Barrington, Uncle Gary Barrington, Uncle Troy and Aunt Martha Barrington and cousins Chris, Brandon, Sarah, Susannah, Stacey, Stephanie, Jonathan, Sophia and Shanna. Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents J.E. and Wilma Barrington, his Uncle James Barrington , his cousin James Edward Barrington and his precious Aunt Kay Stephens. We love you son and will see you soon! The family requests that donations be made in Richards memory to Harmony Plains Singing School, c/o Ronnie Fowler, 4304 45th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79413-3312.
