Richard Dean Sitz, 77, of Midland passed away on Friday, February 15,2013 at Midland Memorial Hospital after a brief illness surrounded byhis family. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 20,2013 at Grace Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM with Reverend Robert Pase officiating.Richard was born on November 8, 1935 to C.H and Elma Sitz inCrowell, TX. Richard graduated from Vernon High School in 1955. Hemarried the love of his life Edna Ruth Kieschnick on August 26, 1956in Vernon, TX. They moved to Odessa, Texas in 1957 and later toMonahans, Texas where he worked as an Independent Paint and BuildingContractor for a number of years before serving as County Judge inWard County from 1979 to 1991. Richard served in the Lions Club,American Cancer Society and the Ward County Wagonmasters. He enjoyedfishing, golfing, playing bridge with his wife and friends, and mostof all spending time with his family. He was a very active churchworker.He is survived by his wife, Edna Ruth Sitz of Midland; daughter,Cheryle Aikman and husband Steve of Midland; sons, Garry Sitz and wifeCathy of Midland; and Kevin Sitz of Midland; five grandchildren,Tristan Sitz and wife Jackie of Allen, TX; Shea, Shanna, Cassie, andKieri Sitz all of Midland; 1 great-grandchild, Evan Michael Sitz; andone sister, Reta Ford and husband Dugless Buster of Chillicothe, TX.Richard is preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made in his nameto Permian Basin Area Foundation; 200 N.
