Richard Cauble, 83, of Big Spring, died on Friday, April 3, 2009, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 6, 2009 at Mt. Olive Memorial Park in Big Spring with Rev. Lynn Robertson , Chaplain at Compass Hospice, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. to 5 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.He was born on January 24, 1926, in Big Spring, Texas and married Eula "Moe" Evans on September 2, 1948, in Big Spring. She preceded him in death on May 3, 2005.Richard was born and raised in Big Spring and was a lifetime resident. His parents were Lad and Olive Cauble. He attended Big Spring Schools and entered the U.S. Army during World War II before he finished high school. He served in the European Theatre and after the war he finished school and attended Sul Ross University. Richard worked as an auto mechanic and opened his own business Cauble Garage, in 1952 and worked until he retired in 1990.He was a Baptist and was a member of Staked Plains Lodge #598, A.F. & A.M., also a member of the Suez Shrine Temple.Survivors include one son & daughter-in-law, Ricky & Trisha Cauble of Midland, Texas; one daughter & son-in-law, Judy & Steve Westbrook of Big Spring, Texas; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one brother, Jack Cauble of Brady, Texas. Richard was preceded in death by by one sister Dot Hood and one brother Don Cauble.
