On August 24, I had the priviledge to visit with Dick in his room at the veteran's home. When I went in he seemed to be asleep and I decided not to disturb him. Then in the hall I spoke to the nurse that had directed me to his room. She asked if I spoke with Mr. Bartlett and I said no, that I thought he was asleep. She said oh, let's go speak with him, he will be glad to see you. So sure enough, when she spoke to him and said you have company, he opened those big brown eyes and was so friendly and asked me to sit down. I am so glad I did get to visit with him a few minutes. This is what I want to share: we talked about the Lord Jesus Christ and how long he had been a Christian --a long time-- and his eyes shined as he said "and I've got a mansion there that He has made for me"! I shall always remember that special look and the sweetness of his smile. Praise God I did not miss that blessing of our short visit. Dick is ENJOYING THAT MANSION NOW!!! From Dorothy Rogers

My Mother and Daddy thought the world of their family. Dick was so good to come and visit everytime he was in town and I appreciated that. Dick was a good friend, good man and he will be greatly missed by our family.
