Richard A. Reker, 75, of Midland passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, January 1, 2013 at 7:30PM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 2, 2013 at 10:00AM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Monsignor Larry Droll officiating. Richard was born on April 27, 1938 to Caroline and Charles Reker in Jasper, Indiana. Richard grew up in Jasper and graduated from Jasper High School in 1956. After graduation he graduated from Lockyear Business College. Richard married the love of his life Suzanna Orth on September 5, 1959 in Indiana. He worked at RK Petroleum as an Accountant in Illinois and then transferred to Midland in 1978. Richard was a very patient man. He provided the best life for his family, not only financially but spiritually as well. Richard did not only teach his family about having faith, but he taught them how to walk by faith and not by sight. The most important thing in life for Richard was spending time with his family and most of all his grandchildren. Richard was their biggest supporter. He never missed any of their extracurricular activities. Richard was in the Knights of Columbus 3071 Midland Council; the Share & Care Group at St. Ann’s Catholic Church for over 20years; and served on the St. Ann’s Parish Educational Endowment Board. Survivors include his wife, Suzanna Reker; son, Keith and wife Donna Reker; son, Karl and wife Wendy Reker; daughter-in-law, Kelli Reker; 7 grandchildren, Charles Reker (Jennifer), Steven Reker, Emily Edwards (Kelton), Adam Reker, Braxton Reker, Delaney Reker, Preston Reker and 1 great-grandchild, Jack Reker. He is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Reker. The family would like to thank all of the CCU Nurses and Respiratory Therapists at Midland Memorial Hospital for all of their services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to St. Ann’s Parish Educational Endowment Fund Inc. 1906 W Texas Ave, Midland, TX 79701. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. ,
