Ressie Dempsey Priddy, 86, of Henderson, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Mt. Olive Memorial Park in Big Spring with Rev. Mark Lindsey, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.She was born on December 9, 1922, in Coleman, Texas and married J. D. Dempsey in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1978. She then married Virgil Lowell Priddy in 1980 and he preceded her in death in 1997.She had been a resident of Howard County off and on since 1926 and was a homemaker.Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and David Hajovsky of Canyon Lake; a step daughter, Carla Young of Waurika, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Gabriel A. Meruelo II, David W. Hajovsky Jr., and Daniel B. Hajovsky; and three great grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by one son, Craig Dempsey; one daughter, Linda Knox; and three sisters.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring. Wherever she went and whatever she did, Ressie was always leaving "Heartprints." Never have I known anyone who could make you feel more loved and more special than she could. I was blessed that her path crossed mine and what a void we are left with now ...all who were lucky enough to know her and bask in that smile of hers. Her life was the very epitome of love and care and service to others. Now that she has finally walked on to her heavenly reward, our world will seem a little emptier somehow. Gabe and family: my thoughts and prayers are with you---also my admiration; for it is so evident that you have that same capacity for loving and caring that she did. What a legacy she leaves. What a commodity she shared.
