Rebecca Ann Campbell of Midland, Texas, passed away on January 22, 2026. She was born April 1, 1945, in Seagraves, Texas, and moved to Midland in 1967 from Lamesa.
Rebecca lived like a true country woman—practical, straightforward, and dependable. She was a licensed LVN for more than 51 years, eventually retiring after working for Texas Tech, and she took pride in doing her job well.
Around home, she was known as “the Chicken Lady.” She hatched and raised chickens for herself and others. If you needed chicks—or the kind of advice that didn’t waste words—Becky was the one you called.
She is survived by her son, Shaney Burris (Tulia, Texas); daughter, Shaunda McCright and son-in-law, Paul McCright (Midland, Texas); sister, Darlene Ready (Midland, Texas); brother, Rickey Booe and sister-in-law, Mary Booe (Odessa, Texas); long-time friend of over 40 years, Robert Mullins; along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Keith Campbell (1999); her parents, A.H. Booe and Arvel Woolf; her brothers, Alvin Ray Booe, Coy Lee Booe, and Lloyd W. Booe; and her sisters, Evelyn Stahl and Barbara Corrine Chelf.
No service will be held. Those who wish to honor Rebecca may make a donation in her memory to Samaritan’s Purse.
