Services for Raymond Arthur Moore, beloved husband, father and grandfather will be held at First Baptist Church, Big Spring, on Monday, December 15th, at 4:00 p.m.Raymond was born in Cisco, Texas on October 23, 1922 to William and Virginia Moore. He moved to Big Spring and completed his Associate Arts Degree at Howard College in 1948, and married Barbara Ann (Babs) Snyder on November 6, 1948.Raymond served his country in World War II as an Army Corporal. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Big Spring for over 50 years, where he sang in both the adult and senior choirs, taught a children's Sunday School class, and served as a church deacon. Raymond was also a member of Ernie Boyd's bible class as well as Camper's On Missions and Western Drifters Camper Club. He retired from Fina's Cosden Refinery after 35 years of service.Raymond is survived by his wife Babs of 55 years, son Gary Moore of Big Spring, daughter Gayle Abbott of Hobbs, grandson Kyle Abbott of Hobbs, Brent Moore of San Marcos, Casey Moore and Skyler Moore of Big Spring, sister Marjorie Ray of Hobbs, brother Freeman Moore of Odessa, brother Ernest Moore of Lubbock, and brother Willie Moore of Roswell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, William and Virginia Moore, sister Flora Bell Moore, brother Monroe Moore, and infant Beverly Jane Moore. He lived a faithful Christian life and died completely at peace with the world.
