Rayburn H. Williams went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 10, 2005 in Midland. He was born July 5, 1929 in Lubbock, Texas to Nash and Vivian Williams. Rayburn spent most of his youth in Lubbock and Longview, Texas before enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corp on September 20, 1946. While attached to a B-29 Air Group in Lakenheath, England Rayburn met the love of his life, Joyce W. Lucas of London, England. The happy couple was married on July 24, 1949 in Lubbock, Texas. After graduating from Texas Tech University in 1955 he worked 36 years for Texas Employers Insurance Association as an industrial safety engineer in Tyler and then in Midland. Rayburn was an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, The Boy Scouts of America, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, The Confederate Air Force, and his church.Rayburn is survived by his wife Joyce of Midland; his daughters Debbie Bush of Midland; Becky Hooper and her husband Jesse of Midland; his son David Williams and his wife Sharon of Austin; his grandson Jason Bush of Lubbock; his granddaughter Katie Hooper of Midland; his grandson Jacob Hooper of Midland; his great-granddaughter Hallie Hooper of Midland; his sister Pat Hardesty of San Marcos; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Rayburn will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 12, 2005 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America, the Calvary Chapel of Midland/Odessa building fund or one's favorite charity.,
