Randall Lenton (Randy) Smith was born March 16, 1947, to Lenton Henry Smith and Dolora Daphne Wren Smith in Littlefield, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech in 1969 with a degree in finance. His career was in sales and sales management in the paper and printing industries. He is preceded in death by his parents and best friend and wife of 42 years, Jonell Tatum Smith in 2013.

God, in His grace and mercy brought Holly Elliott into his life, and they married in 2014. They enjoyed traveling and spending quiet times together. More than anything, Randy enjoyed worshipping with his friends from Stonegate Fellowship in Midland and San Juan Mountain Church in Colorado. He was a Gideon and loved giving Bibles to school children and placing them in hotels. Your support of the Gideons International, Lubbock Camp would be appreciated.

Randy is survived by his wife Holly, her children Carson Elliott and wife Haley, Forest Wallace and husband Mike, and Cody Elliott and wife Lacy and his sister-in-law Suzann Tatum Wells; nieces Jennifer Wells Blackerby, MD and husband John, and Lindsay McMahan and husband Matthew, brother-in-law Gary Tatum and wife Frankie; nieces Anne Christian and Gaylynn Driver and husband Burt, and nephew Mark Tatum and wife Cyndy; cousins Sandra Ross, Gary Wren, and Rodney Wren.

We will be forever grateful and very blessed by our loving God and family and friends.

Randy planted beautiful seeds for God into so many people, including me. I look forward to hugging his neck again when I enter our Heavenly Home.

I just learned of Randy's passing. I will really miss him and his quick wit. We spent quite a bit of time and several trips talking wood and wood turning. I really admired Randy and will miss him greatly. Until we meet again my friend.

Randy has been my closest friend for more than thirty years. He and I made many great memories over the years sharing our many common interests and our faith. His loss is tempered only with the assurance that all of us saved by grace are granted new lives and new bodies in a world more real than this one. He has escaped this fallen world to live in a perfect one where there is no illness, pain, or death. My condolences to Holly and her family and all who loved Randy. He is now delivered from his illness and in perfect peace and light. May all of us left behind for now be granted God's peace in our earthly loss.

Randy was such a joy and to be around and a great servant of God. His presence will be dearly missed. Much love and prayers to you and your family, Holly. May you feel His love in the love of family and friends. “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Randy was like an uncle to me and my siblings and had a profound, positive influence on my life over the last 30+ years. He will be dearly missed, but I know I will see him again in glory. Our hope was never in this life; it has always been in the resurrection. I am praying for Holly and the rest of his family.
