Ramon Valdez, 82, of Big Spring, TX, died peacefully on Monday, May 23, 2022, in Big Spring, TX.
Ramon was born in Shafter, TX and eventually made his way to Big Spring where he married Naomi Muñoz.
He enjoyed working with his hands, whether it was with small woodworking or large construction and building projects, working on car motors, or re-imagining anything else needing repairs that he could get his hands on. When he wanted to relax you could find him at a nearby creek, pond, or lake with a fishing pole in hand. He was a fun storyteller and knew how to liven up a somewhat boring encounter and fill it with exciting, but questionable details; although if anything exciting and unbelievable could happen, it would happen to Ramon.
Survivors include his wife Naomi Valdez, daughters Birdie (Ricky) Soto and Belen Valdez, his son Ezequiel Valdez, and step-daughters Vickie Garcia Sanchez, Christie Garcia (Raul) Aguilar, Peggy Garcia (Sergio) Cervantes, his sister Maria Rodriguez, and 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Luisa Valdez, his brothers Rene, Alvino, and Hector Valdez, and sisters Delia Nieto and Gloria Perez.
