Ramiro M. Luna, 94, of Midland, Texas, passed away on October 1, 2022. A visitation will begin at 6:30pm with a Rosary beginning at 7:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 10:00am, Thursday, October 6, 2022 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Ramiro Luna was born on September 21, 1928 in Ozona, Texas to the late Salome Luna and Isabel Guerrero. He grew up in Ozona, Texas and married the love of his life, Nestora Herrera Luna, in 1948. They went on to have five children and were married for 72 years. In 1960, they moved to Midland, Texas. He was a man of many trades from sheep shearing, to running gas stations, to ranch management, to truck driving all over the world, to being in the oil industry. He was very proud of retiring from Permian Corporation. He was honored to continue working in the trucking business and enjoyed working many years for Tomas Munoz where he worked till his early 90’s. He had a strong work ethic and never left a friend behind. He was a man of integrity, a man of respect, and believed anything was worth having if you worked hard for it. He was a caring friend, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Nestora Luna, and sons Ramiro Luna, Jr., and Richard A. Luna.
Ramiro is survived by his children Alex Luna and wife Lisa; Norma Duran and husband Torivio; daughter-in-law Eva Luna, all from Midland, Texas; and Connie Luna and John Daly from Coppell, Texas; his grandchildren, Joseph Duran; Kimberlea Duran and husband John Claire; Sarah Duran; Diana and husband Shawn Giacobbe; Bonnie and husband Johnny Baeza; Maddy Luna; Ryan Luna; Elijah Luna; Jason Rodriguez and wife Jennifer; Amanda Rodriguez and husband Ivan Hernandez; Andrew Rodriguez and wife Taylor; Lorena Covington and husband Robert; Francisca Linares and husband Josue; Alexander Luna II; several great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and in-laws who love him dearly.
Serving Pallbearers will be Joseph Duran, Josue Linares, Alexander Luna II, Elijah Luna, Ryan Luna, and Andrew Rodriguez. A reception for family and friends will follow all services.
The family would like to express their gratitude to caretakers Nohemi Ramirez, Rebecca Steffan, Claudia Luna; and Becca, Vanessa, and the care staff with Hospice Care of Midland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
