Ralph A. Halfmann, 83, of St. Lawrence, died Thursday, August 16, 2012, in a San Angelo hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the St. Lawrence Cemetery.A vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, August 17, 2012 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church.He was born September 28, 1928 in Rowena and married Mary Alberta Holder October 5, 1949 in Rowena. She preceded him in death March 2, 2004. Together they farmed in St. Lawrence for 54 1/2 years.Ralph served in the United States Army in the occupation of Japan.He is survived by his children, Rudy and Linda Halfmann of Coahoma, Sandra Halfmann of San Angelo, Diann and Jim Cmerek of St. Lawrence and Ronnie Halfmann of St. Lawrence; grandchildren, Matthew and Marci Cmerek of Lubbock, Rebecca and Aaron Hughes of Midland and Douglas Cmerek of Midland; step grandchildren, Buddy and Kerry Slayton and Shawn Slayton; great grandbaby Hughes due in March; step great grandchildren, Michael, Seth, Nate, Bode and Nevaeh; his siblings, Walter and Mary Ann Halfmann, Grace and Bill Phelps and Clara Cline and special family friends, Dennis and Dee Matthiesen and Anthony Garza.He was also preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Pauline Halfmann; brothers, Victor, Ross and Harvey; and sister, Jean Connors.The family suggests memorials be made to ABC Ministries, HC 34, Box 183-A, Midland, Texas 79706; to Glasscock County EMS, P.O.
