R. Neal Bryant, 90, of Big Spring, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Lindsey, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Neal was born March 3, 1925 in Mitchell County, Texas to Gentry and Eldie Richburg Bryant. He married Virginia Barber July 13, 1946 in Big Spring. Neal was a longtime resident of Big Spring and attended Big Spring High School. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Wantuck during World War II. He worked for Williams Sheet Metal and Hester-Robertson Mechanical Contractors until retiring in 1987. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Big Spring and had served as a deacon for many years. He also served on the boards of the Circle Six Ranch Baptist Camp and the Crossroads Baptist Association. He and Virginia had also been active with Campers on Mission for 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Bryant of Big Spring; one son, Robert V. \Bob\ Bryant and wife, Felice of Katy; three grandchildren, Robert Nathan Bryant and wife, Christina of San Antonio, Natalie Kate Boening and husband, Matt of Schertz and Noel Andrew Bryant and wife, Kate of New Braunfels; five great-grandchildren, Zeke Bryant, Alison Boening, Jacob Boening, Emily Boening and Lucy Bryant; one brother, Johnny Bryant and wife, Judy of Hawley; one sister, Doris Camp of Weatherford; a sister-in-law, Lolita Grimes of Davenport, Florida; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to the Circle Six Ranch Baptist Camp, P. O. Box 976, Stanton, Texas 79782 or the charity of your choice.
