R. Glenn Riley, 89, of Garden City, died on Monday, July 24, 2006, in a Midland hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Garden City Cemetery with Jan Reed with First United Methodist Church in Midland, officiating.He was born on June 17, 1917, in Wise County, Texas. He married Merle Calverley and she preceded him in death in 1972. He then married Glenyce Conine and she preceded him in death in 2001.He had been a resident of this area since 1932. He graduated from Garden City High School and attended business college in Abilene. He owned G. C. Abstact Office at one time and he ranched for over 40 years, raising cattle and sheep. He enjoyed water skiing, working with wood and home building and playing bridge. He had lived in Midland for 28 years after retiring.He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Garden City.Survivors include one son, Glenn Joe Riley of Mesa, Arizona; two grandsons, Terry Riley of Denton and Joe Riley of Grapevine; and four great grandchildren.
