Jean & Jane:I met your Dad in 2001 on my first trail ride with CWTR and he did his best to make this Yankee feel at home, and like a real cowboy. In addition to horses, we shared a love of Martin guitars, and because of him I returned to playing and singing which I hadn't done in a very long time -- he didn't seem to notice how rusty I was! He always told me to come down for a visit... Chris, you just get yourself to Midland and ask for Bob Bennet... they'll find me! A WONDERFUL man, who I will miss for the rest of my life. Regards,Chris (aka New York City!)

Jane & Jean, sorry you lost Bob! He was a really unique individual & was also nice to me. He will be missed as men like him are few and far between these days. However, he was blessed with such a wonderful high spirited life that mostmen would be envious. I know you two will be fine & will remember all those adventures Bob had. I apologize as I amstuck on a well site presently & will not be able to make the funeral. Once again you have my sympathy, sincerely Mark

I did not have the opportunity to meet Mr. Bennett. However, I know he must have been an amazing human being because his daughter Jane, a dear friend, is an exceptional person. That does not happen in a vacuum. From reading the obituary, I believe Jane is very much her father's daughter. My heart goes out to Jane and Jean. Loss is never easy and life is never long enough.

We had so many good times. One of my favorites will be the quail hunt at Lloyd Treat's where few quail were killed that day but what fun was had by all. R.C. on the guitar, Bob Morgan on the spoons, with everyone singing after a few liquid libations of course. Going on deer hunts and stopping at mid day to fry up some elk meat with biscuits and gravy. What a LIGHT LUNCH. Go in peace and may the God of love and peace delight to dwell with you R.C. Bennett.
