R. A. “Junior” Plunk, Jr., passed away to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 30, 2018 with his wife, Shirley and their daughter Ashely and son in law Coby by his side. He was born to Rowe and Louise Plunk on May 13, 1945 in Stamford, TX.Junior was a man that worshipped and loved his Lord and Savior. He was a private, kind and honorable man. He grew up in Midland where he attended Midland High School. He went on to work for Permian Corporation and in 1971 joined his father in the wireline business. After his father’s death Junior and his brother, Charles took over the business as owners and Junior was currently still working everyday upon his death. Junior was always open to anyone with his vast knowledge and expertise. He always welcomed discussion of the abundant subjects. He loved each member of his family and all his friends. He always had a big smile upon his face when you would meet him. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and business colleagues.Junior is preceded in death by his parents, Rowe and Louise Plunk, nephew, Jason Plunk and great nephew, Randy Struck.Junior is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Shirley and their daughter, Ashley who was the one and only Princess in his eyes and son in law, Coby Trolinder. His siblings, Charles Plunk and fiancé, Judy of Midland, TX, Gene Plunk and wife, Nancy of Midland, TX, Sue Barnett and husband, Tom of Midland, TX and Ricky Plunk and wife, Vicky of Conroe, TX. Numerous nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces and great-great nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at Nalley, Pickle & Welch Funeral Home between the hours of 6:00-8:00 on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Wilshire Park Baptist Church with Brother Glenn Pipes officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.Active pallbearers will be Jim Stulleville, Steve Mizzles, Cord Mizzles, Kris Lundberg, Michael Vandiver and Lance Baze. Honorary pallbearers will be David Tomlin, Richard Creek, Ronny Wyatt and R.T. Hale.The family request memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, Wilshire Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.Services are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral & Crematory of Midland.
