Philip Daniel Friday, 39 of Midland, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022. A Rosary will be held at 7:00pm, on Wednesday, May 18, and a Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, both at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
Philip was born on July 7, 1982 in Midland, Texas to Ellen and Lance Friday, and was the oldest of their three children. Philip was an Eagle Scout, attended Midland Lee High School and was a graduate of Texas Tech University, where he studied architecture. Philip loved the outdoors and experienced this passion through travel, hunting, fly fishing and was a member of Safari Club International. He viewed his vocation, as a landscape architect in West Texas, as his dream job, and was most recently working on a project for his favorite charity, Trinity Oaks – a non-profit whose mission is to use hunting, fishing and outdoor experiences as a platform to fundamentally change, heal and make a difference in the lives of others.
Philip is described by his family and friends as being quick-witted, with an exuberant spirit. A child at heart, Philip was adored by his niece, nephews and cousins in Texas and Chicago. He was a loving son, grandson and loyal friend.
Philip is survived by his parents, Ellen and Lance Friday, his brothers and their families Michael Friday, his wife Amanda and their children Harper and Fisher; and Mark Friday, his wife Jordan and their son, Callen. He also leaves behind his grandfather, George Daniel Friday, Jr. and aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who were like family to him.
Philip is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Phil and Josie Rocha, and his paternal grandmother, Melba Jean Friday.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the incredible display of love and support over the past few days from friends, family and parishioners. The texts, emails, cards, food deliveries and warm hugs have overwhelmed us and we are forever grateful.
Pallbearers will be Michael Friday, Mark Friday, Dr. Brandon Rebber, and Easton Harrold.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Trinity Oaks, which can be dedicated to Philip on the donation page on their website, as it would help to complete the work that Philip envisioned, or any charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
