Peggy Wilson, 78, of Big Spring, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Mark Lindsey, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. She was born September 8, 1937 in Big Spring, Texas and married John Wilson June 5, 1960 in Abilene, Texas. He preceded her in death May 23, 2014. Peggy grew up at the Hendrick Home for Children in Abilene. She graduated from Abilene High School and attended Hardin-Simmons University where she met her future husband. She had worked for Lee, Wilson and Reynolds CPA in Snyder. A longtime resident of Big Spring, Peggy worked for Gutherie Oil and Gas for many years. She loved playing bridge and reading. Peggy was a member of the First Baptist Church and was active in her sunday school class. She was also a member of the Big Spring Country Club Ladies Golf Association and the Green Gotts Investment Group. Survivors include a daughter, Valerie Gammon and husband, Tom of Austin; three grandsons, Andrew Gammon, Matthew Gammon and wife, Valerie and Will Gammon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John Burton and Bernice May Parish Digby; one son, John Wilson, Jr.; and eight siblings.
