Peggy R. Cottongame, 77, of Big Spring, died on Friday, November 6, 2009, in an Odessa hospice facility. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Trinity Memorial Park Big Spring with Captain Russ Keeney, of the Salvation Army of Midland, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.Mrs. Cottongame was born on August 27, 1932, in Big Spring, Texas, to Joe and Ola Ruth (Edens) Barbee. She married Jack H. Cottongame Sr. on August 10, 1966 in Lamesa, Texas. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2008.Mrs. Cottongame was beautician for 32 years. During the latter part of her career she owned and operated the Vogue Beauty Salon. She was a member and past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, did volunteer work for over ten years as a Salvation Army Solider, and even volunteered at the nursing homes where she lived. She always put others first.Survivors include two sons, Gary and wife Patricia Snowden of Big Spring, and Jackie and wife Sanden Cottongame of Krum; one sister, Patsy Santistenban of San Leandro, CA; eight granddaughters, Danielle and Roxanne Cottongame fo Krum, Kandis, Stephanie, and Heather Snowden, and Michelle Mikles of Big Spring; two grandsons, David and Billy Mikles of Dallas; and three great-grandchildren.
