Peggy J. “Peg” Hodge, 87, of Midland, passed away on November 15, 2022, just one day shy of her 70th wedding anniversary. Peg was born on December 21, 1934, to William and Marie Graves in Lampasas, Texas. After graduating from high school, she married the love of her life, Eugene M. “Gene” Hodge, on November 16, 1952, in Jal, New Mexico.
During her early years in Jal, New Mexico, Peg was an avid barrel racer and loved being a part of the rodeo community. She was a teacher for special needs children, a real estate agent, and, most importantly, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Peg was an excellent cook and known for her Mexican food and Thanksgiving “special” homemade rolls. Thanksgiving was one of her favorite holidays to spend with her family. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf, reading, and spending time in her garden. Peg and Gene loved traveling and spent their lives all over parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. They walked through life together as each other’s best friends. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Midland.
Peg is preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Graves.
Peg is survived by her beloved husband, Gene. She is also survived by her son, Bob Hodge, his wife, Kris, of Midland and her daughter Cynthia Daniel of Houston. Together, Peg and Gene have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Midland or the First Presbyterian Church.
