Peggy Marie Hays Norris went home to her Heavenly Father on May 6, 2024. Peggy was born May 19, 1933, in Clyde, Texas to Marion and Mary Hays. She graduated from Clyde High School as the Valedictorian. After graduation she attended Abilene Christian College. At ACC, Peggy met the love of her life, Jack Norris. They were married on December 19, 1952, in Abilene, Texas.
Jack and Peggy spent 40 years in the State of Nevada teaching and doing missionary work with the Churches of Christ. Peggy spent 30 years teaching mostly Kindergarten in Fallon, Nevada. They retired and moved to Midland, Texas in 1992 to be near grandkids.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 56 years, Jack Norris, and her daughter Dixi Norris Montooth of Fallon, Nevada; her parents, Marion and Mary Hays of Sterling City, Texas and grandparents, Earl and Marcia Hays of Clyde, Texas.
Surviving her are 2 of her daughters; Debra (Debbie) Mason and husband Kelly Mason; Deana (Dee) Vaughan and husband Kelly Vaughan all of Midland, Texas. Her son-in-law; Chris Montooth of Fallon, Nevada. 5 grandchildren; Aaron Mason and wife Ashley with their girls, Gabriella, and Elliana of LaVernia, Texas; Nathan Mason and wife Kanesha; Jessica Mason and fiancé Nik DiGiulio of Austin, Texas; Katie Vaughan-Naron and husband David of College Station; and Kylie Vaughan of College Station. Peggy is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was ‘Nana’ to Aaron, Nathan and Jessica Mason, and Katie and Kylie Vaughan. She also adored her great-granddaughters, Gabby, and Ellie Mason!
Graveside services will take place on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 2:00pm at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donation to Midland Christian School, KWO (Kenya Widows & Orphans) or the charity of your choice.
