Peggy Francia (Painter) Plew, age 90 of Big Spring passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023. The family will receive friends from 10am to 1pm on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2:30pm at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel, also on April 26, in Big Spring, Texas.
She graduated from Forsan High School in 1949. She married Billy Plew in 1953. Peggy worked as a bookkeeper and home maker and was a long time auxiliary volunteer for the Scenic Mountain Medical Center. After their marriage, they resided in Big Spring for all but two years, 1969-1971, when they lived in Baton Rouge, La.
She was preceded in death by her father Gilbert F. Painter and mother, Byrdeen Painter, both of Big Spring and husband, Billy Plew of Big Spring.
Survivors include the following: her brother Dwight (Dow) Painter of Abilene; sons Roger Plew and Gary (Kim) both of Big Spring and Timothy (Paula) of Santa Fe, TX; daughter Tammy Pointon of Lubbock, plus grandsons Thomas Plew (Kristen) of Dickinson, TX., Joel Plew of Santa Fe, TX., Jordan (Aaron) Pointon of New Home, TX. and Erik (Michelle) Plew of Arizona; and granddaughters Kasey (Brent) Holsenbeck of Abilene, Stefanie (Tom) McGill of Lubbock, Sarah Plew of Webster and Bethany (Jasper) Chauvin of Houston; and Abby Plew, of Santa Fe, TX., Misty (Glenn) Perkins and Deeanna (Mike) Covington, and Natalie (Ali) Bowersi, all of Lubbock; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
