Pedro R. Trevino, 70, of Garden City, died on Thursday, January 17, 2008, at his residence. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, January 18 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. He was born on April 13, 1937, in Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico and married Maria Lucila Lopez on July 16, 1956 in Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico. He was a longtime cotton farmer in Glasscock County. Pedro loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting. He had a great love for his family and especially enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Survivors include wife, Lucila Trevino of Garden City; son and daughter-in-law, Oscar and Martha Trevino of Garden City; daughter and son-in-law, Rosa and Ramiro Garza of St. Lawrence; daughter and son-in-law, Lucila and Fernando Dominguez of Odessa; son and daughter-in-law, Pedro "Pete" and Lucila Trevino of Dallas; son, Jesse Trevino of Granbury; son, Joe Trevino of Odessa; daughter, Mary Ellen Trevino of Athens; 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. I am J.S. Campbell's nephew. I knew Pete for years. We worked livestock together many times. I am very sorry and saddened to hear of his passing. I will never forget his helpfulness and his great sense of humor. I last saw him about 3 years ago when he came through Mereta and will not forget our last visit. He was a great guy.
