Pedro O. Ramos, 78, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in Big Spring. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 16, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Carlos Payen, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.He was born on May 20, 1928, in Colorado City, Texas and married Josefina Ortega on August 14, 1956 in Juarez, Mexico. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2003.Mr. Ramos moved to Big Spring in 1972. He worked as a foreman for Texas and Pacific Railroad, which later became Union Pacific, for 43 years. He played minor league baseball for the Colorado City Indians and was drafted by the Texas Rangers, but turned it down to be with his family. He was a past member of Highway 80 Church of Christ and was a member of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ.Survivors include eight sons, Juan Hernandez of San Antonio, Victor Ramos of DeSoto, Luis Ramos of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Marcos Ramos of Hawaii, Mario Ramos of Duncanville, Andrew Ramos of Korea, Pedro Ramos, Jr. of El Paso, and Miguel Angel Ramos of San Antonio; seven daughters, Hilda Garibay of Midland, Irma Vincent and Yolanda Booth both of Big Spring, Veronica Moreline of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Maria Ester Ramos and Martha Ramos both of Kerrville, and Mary Lou Franco of Fresno, California; one brother, Adan Ramos of Santa Rosa, California; two half brothers, Alejandro Ramos and Jose Luis Ramos both of Ojinaga, Mexico; ten half sisters, Gloria Enriquez of Pecos, Amelia Enriquez and Alicia Enriquez both of Grandfalls, Amada Enriquez of Odessa, Emelia Enriquez, Chela Enriquez, and Lupe Enriquez all of Ojinaga, Mexico, Rosario Enriquez, Catalina Enriquez, and Lala Enriquez all of Chihuahua, Mexico; 31 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; 1 half brother; and a great grandson, Nathaniel Alexander Vincent in 2007.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
