Pauline Mayberry Wallace was born February 11, 1943, in Midland, TX to the late Ben Mayberry, Sr. and Lona Mae Green. She attended Carver High School where she was a member of the Hornet’s basketball and cheerleading squad. On December 20, 1966, she united in holy matrimony to Curtis Earl Wallace in Midland, TX.Pauline Wallace was a member of North Side Church of Christ of over 50 years under the leadership of Minister Dan Johnson. Pauline was a very faithful and active member of the church, winning her husband to Christ and serving by his side for 30+ years. Pauline taught many classes at North Side, including the young ladies Bible class for many years. She also helped with the van ministry serving as the bus monitor alongside her husband. Pauline was very active in the community and very involved with her children. She was the first Brownie, Girl Scout, and Cub Scout leader in her community, girls’ basketball and softball coach for many years through the YMCA, and she received the Lifetime PTA Membership from Pease Elementary. Pauline held jobs as a beautician, Texas Instruments, and most notably a cross guard on Lamesa Rd, Travis and Emerson Schools.She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, brothers, Edward Sr., Ben Jr., John, and Raymond Mayberry; and her one and only sister, Mattie Dangerfield. She leaves to cherish and honor her memories two sons, Ron Andre Shaw, Don Michael Wallace (Yvette), and only daughter, Valencia Marie Taylor (Rodney). She leaves to carry on her legacy fifteen grandchildren, Evanee, Rodney II, Kendra, Tish, Ron, Jamie, Erica, Jasmine, Terrance, Darrien, Devin, Desmond, Niguel, Josh, and Jacob; ten great grandchildren Anaya, Jordan, Jaylen, Zayvian, Laundrie, Marissa, Paris, Luke, Peyton, and Colin; and, one brother Dr. Robert Mayberry of Oakland, CA. Pauline also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Pauline departed this life on July 7, 2017. A wake service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Lee Street Church of Christ, officiated by Evangelist Joseph Freeman Robertson, Sr., burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
