Our Meme and Mama, Paulette \Polly\ Bynum, 83, of Midland, was surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 2, 2017 as she passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 11:00 am at Crestview Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Andrews West Cemetery in Andrews, TX.Polly was born on October 18, 1933 to Lulie Parilee and Paul Elias Anderson in Sherman, TX. She graduated from Point, Texas as Valedictorian in 1951. Polly met Bill on a blind date January 17, 1951 when he first noticed her petiteness and long red hair. A few days later, as Bill walked in to the gym to attend her basketball game she said “I’m going to marry that man”. What began as a blind date, led to almost 66 years of a faithful, loving marriage. They were married on October 20, 1951. In 1953, Bill finished the military service and they settled in Midland, Texas where they began a family and she devoted herself to raising their daughters. They joined Crestview Baptist Church in 1953 where she served faithfully in the choir and other ministries. Later in life, Polly began working for various companies. Work was important to Polly and after years of working diligently and loyally, she retired from Arco Oil and Gas. After retirement, Polly enjoyed researching her family's history and creating genealogy books for each of her family members.She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Billy Bynum and daughters Paula Bynum and Denese Truitt of Midland, Texas; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Shana and her husband Mike Sawyer and their children, Aylah, Grace, Caleb and Brinley of Kokomo, Indiana, Ashley and her husband Johnny Gray and son, Isaiah Mathews of Midland, Texas, and Lauren Truitt and Antwon Washington and their children Alijah Truitt and Zahkius Washington of Midland, Texas.She is preceded in death by her parents, Lulie and Paul Anderson, sister, Mary Rabb, and brother, Walter Paul Anderson.Polly loved her family dearly and selflessly made every effort to make each moment special. “I love you little, I love you big. I love you like a little pig”.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to Crestview Baptist Church Building Fund, 301 Loop 250 Frontage Rd, Midland, TX 79703, in memory of Polly.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
